CANCELLED – Free Community Seminar: Effects of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on Health

High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has emerged as a prominent exercise strategy, garnering significant attention for its potential impact on exercise capacity and overall health. Numerous studies consistently show that HIIT, characterized by short bursts of intense, near maximal exertion, alternated with periods of rest or lower-intensity activity, can lead to notable improvements in cardiovascular fitness and exercise performance. Recent studies provide evidence that HIIT is particularly effective in enhancing aerobic capacity, insulin sensitivity, and metabolic function. Furthermore, HIIT is also linked to favorable changes in body composition, including reductions in body fat, improvements in muscle mass and bone health. The evidence-based effects of HIIT underscore its potential as a potent tool for promoting both exercise capacity and overall health.
