Free Community Seminar: Exercise and Immune System

Refreshments and Drinks at 6:00pm. Seminar starts promptly at 6:30pm.

It was once thought that exercise might depress immune function. Today, scientific evidence shows that moderate exercise benefits the immune system. This workshop will review the studies showing moderate exercise mobilizes immune system cells and helps the body defend itself against pathogens. As a result, individuals engaging in regular aerobic physical activity (brisk walking, cycling, running, dancing, walking the dog, etc.) have fewer illnesses and less systemic inflammation.
